ALAISE (2021)
Alaise, meaning "innocence" in Yoruba, is one of my "Guardians of Sacred Space," designed to infuse any area with calm and positive energy. It watches over those who are innocent, offering them protection and serenity.
This original artwork is hand-painted in acrylic on fiber, measuring 60" x 96". Alaise seamlessly integrates the intricate pre-existing patterns of the rug, enhancing its presence and aura.
Alaise was showcased in ArtPrize 2021 as one of the five "Guardians of Sacred Space" and received the prestigious "Artista Latina Award," sponsored by the West Michigan Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.
